WHO KNEW!!

The thing that thrills me the absolute most about fashion these days is that it’s just so much fun! Not to mention full of surprises, and I for one cannot seem to get enough of it :) It's a fashion mud pool out there and I'm here to get dirty!

Just when I thought beanies and socks were only meant for those super freezing days,when all I feel like doing is slouch around in tracks and trainers, BAM, they come walking down the runway and POOF! All of a sudden the trend is everywhere! I love that fashion has become more tolerant towards the guy and girl on the street and that no matter what you wear, as long as it’s with grace and confidence, you can pull it off quite comfortably.

Heck! Just because you’re wearing a beanie, doesn't mean you have to look and feel slouchy. So dig out that knitted ol' thing  from wherever you've been hiding it and get styling! Here’s some beanie-lovers that might help you get the style just right…

And as if the fashion gods are making sure we stay nice and warm this Winter, socks with heels, although having been around for some time, have become an even bigger fashion statement this season. So while you're busy getting ready for work, before you throw on those stylish sandals or ankle boots, don't forget to pair them with a good pair of socks. Confused? Here, I'll help you with a few ideas. Come on, try it! It's fun and warm too!

Then there's those ugly old specs we simply cannot do without but bluntly refuse to wear! I know. I'm guilty of this too. But who can blame us right - fact is, they are butt ugly indeed! The secret however is to get a pair that suits your face just right, has a trendy frame and a super chick shape. Believe me, this makes a huge difference and you'll never want to go without your specs again! Now you can be fashionable and be able to see too...haha...so what's your preference?

My Winter Must-haves 2013

And so Summer has left us high and dry...or rather cold and wet, with Autumn settling in nicely and Winter fast approaching. Not my favourite seasons of the year, Beautiful indeed, refreshing even... but I'm not really much of an indoors-y kinda gal.

So to make this season more bearable for the forever-on-the-go me and other fashies out there (which is my term for fashion mommies in case you've forgotten :)) I have selected some of my favorite Autumn/Winter must-have items, and I'm sharing them with you!

What I love about this year's trends is that it's bringing back the classics, and I mean CLASSICS. Last season we got to reinvent trends dating back a few decades - this season the fashion world has taken us back even further into time with trends dating back to the mysterious Medieval times, an era I always wished I experienced myself. So as you can imagine, when these beauties made their way from the runway and into stores all over the country...I made sure to get a few items into my closet!

Spicing these oldies up with a touch of new, here's my favourite trends this season! :-)

Black and White Checkered patterns

As old as thousands of years, made popular in the Renaissance era as the preferred flooring in ancient Kingdoms, and in recent years walking our runways - the black and white checkered Print has evidently been around for some time and certainly is here to stay...only this time, in our closets.

Speaking of Ancient Kingdoms - The dress-coat reminds me of something out of a Marie Antoinette movie and with it's warm elegance and practicality has won a spot on my list of Winter wonders! This is sure to have anyone wearing one of these, feel like royalty...

Summer Lovin'

Ola Fashies aka Fashion Mommies! :-) I know it's been a while, but the inspiration for my next blog post finally hit! except for the wind, the Cape's been having some lovely warm days, so what more inspiration do we need other than the fact that SUMMER is finally here!!! Have you also been wandering around in stores looking for the perfect swim suit? So have I! for both Jada and me...she's even more excited than I am! And as usual I'm thinking COLOUR COLOUR COLOUR - Nautical, animal prints, stripes, neons, polka dots, tropical prints, tribal prints, Barbie (lol) and styles dating back to the 50's! The absolute best thing about this season's trends is that there are no rules. The more colourful and daring, the more trendier you are! The monokini (one piece) has especially captured my interest this season and like the trusted 'fashie' I am, I went and found us some amazing looks...

And for most of us who feel we might need to cover up a little...well you don't have to look like the odd one out when strolling on the beach. Do it in style like these beach babes...
