Summer Lovin'

Ola Fashies aka Fashion Mommies! :-) I know it's been a while, but the inspiration for my next blog post finally hit! except for the wind, the Cape's been having some lovely warm days, so what more inspiration do we need other than the fact that SUMMER is finally here!!! Have you also been wandering around in stores looking for the perfect swim suit? So have I! for both Jada and me...she's even more excited than I am! And as usual I'm thinking COLOUR COLOUR COLOUR - Nautical, animal prints, stripes, neons, polka dots, tropical prints, tribal prints, Barbie (lol) and styles dating back to the 50's! The absolute best thing about this season's trends is that there are no rules. The more colourful and daring, the more trendier you are! The monokini (one piece) has especially captured my interest this season and like the trusted 'fashie' I am, I went and found us some amazing looks...

And for most of us who feel we might need to cover up a little...well you don't have to look like the odd one out when strolling on the beach. Do it in style like these beach babes...

Oh Mama!

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (two sizes LARGER, that is!) In fact, I’ve just survived a whole Summer of being pregnant! I think you moms and moms-to-be would agree that Summer pregnancies are not only tough in that you suddenly start feeling as if you’re carrying a 10ton brick around wherever you go and not to mention the heat becoming unbearable at times - for many it’s a battle simply finding clothes that remotely, even just the tiniest bit looks and feels good! Mostly look good though, right? Because we’re women and we love to feel beautiful so no matter how many times we play the ‘comfort’ card, if something looks good on us you’re darn right we’re prepared to suffer for beauty. Also, have you seen the maternity section of ANY store? No? Well it’s hideous!! I have two gorgeous babies now and I have NEVER bought anything from the maternity department. Helloooo! Just because we’re pregnant and sporting a little extra meat does not mean we have lost all sense of style!

So as a fashion-loving mom myself I hope this post, my support and the following links provides you with all you may need to make the rest of your pregnancy as pleasant and gorgeous as possible!

Exotic Nail Art making waves this Season

No doubt the french manicure is timeless and certainly here to stay - it creates the illusion of effortless beauty, it's classic and has been around since the glamorous era, the 20's. Though, whether the french manicure is actually French or not is still very debatable. I can see why so many women still walk into a nail salon and request to have a french manicure done - it's safe, oozes with sophistication and perfect for any occasion. Heck, I just sold ME a french manicure! Thing is, I don't do safe.

In a country ruled by Kings and Queens, Prince and princesses, dukes and Duchess' and Lords and ladies, it’s no surprise that the 2012 London Olympic games will be nothing short of a spectacular and style studded event.
