DIY Valentine's Day gift ideas on a budget

January is finally coming to an end. Thank Goodness!! And with all the spending you did during the holidays, I'm guessing that Valentine's day expenses are not very high on your priority list. Besides, Love is meant to be shown and celebrated daily, right? Absotively Posilutely right. And isn't V day like SO overrated anyway? Sure, but so is Mother/father's day, yet we wouldn't dream passing up the opportunity to spoil mom and dad out of their wits when those holidays comes around. Why not then show the same appreciation to the lovers in our lives ;-) and have I got good news for you! FabMom to the rescue...

How you go about showing you love and appreciate them definitely does not require buying expensive gifts. After all, it is the thought that counts and the most cherished gifts are the ones with real meaning, an extension of the relationship, the ones that show you've really put some thought into it. Bonus points if you did it all by yourself and didn't cost you an arm and a leg.

So to add a little magic to your valentine's day this year, I selected a few very easy to make, very cute and extremely cost saving diy gift ideas to share with you. Have fun getting your creativity on! :-)

1. Things I love about you. Finally I have an idea what to do with that old deck of cards that's been collecting dust for years. This idea is fun to make and sure to bowl him completely over!

2.  How Fun!! Every time he hands you one of these love coupons, you'll have no choice but to oblige. For him to use whenever he wants! this could get interesting....

3. Arouse all his senses with this awesome gift idea! Get creative by replacing these with his favourite things.

4. Imagine waking up every morning to a lovely cuppa and a romantic love note. I absolutely adore this idea! In fact I'm doing this myself! With chalkboard paint, draw a heart shape on your love's (and your) favourite mugs, leave to dry and voila! to make your own chalkboard paint. Click here

5. This idea is really neat. In the picture below, the owner drew these hearts in the sand while at the beach and wrote each of his sons' names in them, then took a picture of each heart and had it framed. But you can do this with just about anything from using fruit loops to colourful string to create something special for your love.

If you are looking for more creative ways to fill up those beautiful frames, then also see below for more ideas.

Have a Happy and Romance filled Valentines Day!
